The Real Game Changers

I recently read an article in which Peter Shankman, author (Customer Service: New Rules for a Social Media World) entrepreneur, speaker and worldwide connector said, “social media is making it so companies don’t have to tout their success stories. Instead, you do it for them. If you can give your customers such an amazing experience that they want to go out and tell their friends how awesome you are, you’re doing customer service right and that’s really the new social media.”

These days, just doing what is expected isn’t good enough, you need to go above and beyond to stand out and increase sales. In the promotional products industry, where products may be viewed as commodities, it’s the little things that we provide that can be the real game changer and lead to increased sales and profits.

A great example is eco-friendly packaging supplier The Platform Group Gallery. They provide, at no charge, random samples, case studies and creative ideas you may not have thought about, so that you can close more sales. It’s no wonder that distributors are always raving about them. It’s the distributors and suppliers that go the extra mile that will continue to prosper in the coming years.

My question for you today is: What are three outstanding things you’re doing that make your company stand out from the competition, create loyal customers and encourage repeat business? What suppliers do you love doing business with because they always go above and beyond what is expected? Please comment below.
